by: Christopher from Melbourne

Can someone recommend a Dr that knows and treats Adrenal Fatigue. Been 4 years now. After many herbs and naturopaths I am still not better and can not drop weight or build muscle. Any mild exercise like mowing lawn. I am very out of breath. So over it. I want my life back.

fatigue is fixable
by: Anonymous

Adrenal fatigue is fixable and many of us have done this using the Magnesium Advocacy Group fb page protocol. Its not just about magnesium but addressing the whole mineral imbalance we all have thanks to fortified foods etc.
Have a read of pinned posts and testimonials. Its amazing. Even helps those with MTHFR issues.

Help for good people
by: Health_Hunter@outlook.com

You don't really need to see anyone to heal the adrenals. You can do it yourself with a little sound advice. Some of these docs/naturopaths will have you take DHEA and other steroids/hormones which is totally unnecessary. I've healed my adrenals. At one point I was actually almost sent to hospital by my GP because of my dangerously low cortisol levels (I was taking low dose hydrocortisone at the time to "heal" my adrenals - apparently not a low dose for me!). I was then referred to an endocrinologist who over time helped me bring my cortisol level to non life threatening levels (still fatigued though). During this time I was sleeping upwards of 20 hrs per day. After waking up I could only stay awake for an hour max before returning to bed. I was also susceptible to infections. Feel free to email me for advice if you like (I have been personally studying the health and nutrition field for over a decade - I'm obsessed). It's really simple, stop doing the things that are depleting your adrenals and take some supportive supplements to help heal. Blessings to all

My Experience with B. G. H.
by: Anonymous

After reading the post by Anonymous(May 12,2015)

I was so hopeful I had found THE place to help me!
Unfortunately Dr. P. costs $450 an hour(!) and had a wait time of over a month - but I am in crisis now. I asked for Nathan D. and she said he was away for a few months, so the receptionist suggested another 'amazing' naturopath, called K.R. He was avail for a skype consult the next day (after I pleaded for an appt asap) for $120.

I spent 2hrs filling in the 16 page survey - i happily did so thinking, wow - good questions they're asking, i'll give them as much info as possible to help them know my condition.

The day of my appt, i got a call 20min before saying K. would be 15min late, but to take my credit card details for payment. The receptionist asked for $140. I said "you told me yesterday it would be $120". "Oh yeah, $120, that's right..."
So i'm thinking - is she trying to get more $ out of me or does the receptionist not know the rates for naturopaths?

I paid $120 and waited for the 15min late mark on skype. 25min late, i got a call on my mobile - it was K.

He didn't know how to use skype, so he called my mobile. Ok... no problem I suppose.

He then asked what was going on for me, I asked if he had read my survey 'Ah no, I didn't get it..." !!
He tried to find it, but couldn't.

Oh, ok well i spent a lot of time going over my last 3 years of test results, supplements, and issues - but sure, let's spend the next 30min of my 60min consult going over what he SHOULD have read BEFORE we met!!

Not a good way to start.

So, the upshot is that he was pretty wishy-washy. He went on to prescribe a series of supp's, for adrenals, undermthylation (he didn't even figure out if i'm over or undermethylating!!) and pyrroles - of which i have tried in the past and didn't work.

He then suggested I needed to go on a Candida diet. "Why a candida diet?" i asked 'What have I said that makes you think I have Candida?" "Just a feeling, from what you say" he said. Well my gut biome has shown no issues with candida, "I have testes negative to Candida in the gut" I say - he says, "oh yes, but still something to think about...."

We then concluded at the 50min mark, 10min short of 1hr and after 30min of me discussing my history, I felt this was way too little for him to properly diagnose or offer treatment.

Still, I persisted. He said he would email me the supplements he suggests I start and the receptionist would follow up with call and give me a price list so I could order what I needed from them. I would try the supps and call him back in 2 weeks for another appt.

A day later the receptionist calls asking, have you received the list of supps from K. No, I haven't.
"Oh, ok" she says "let me ask him". She emails us both asking that K send me the supplement list (mind you, I had told him how sick and desperate I was to get relief as soon as possble, but what's a couple of days...?) I told the receptionist how unhappy I was that I spent so much time on the survey for K. not to read it - she said she was 'sorry'. Something, at least.

He finally sends me a list of supps - some of which i understand, others are just acronyms - that mean NOTHING to me.

I then email the receptionist and K. asking them both to clarify what each supp is (its proper name) and the price.

I have not received any response, nor a receipt for the $120 paid. Why should a client have to remind a medical practitioner to send a receipt for their services??

I feel totally conned in a time where i most needed swift, professional service.

Highly disappointed.

Response from Practitioner:

To the skype client who was displeased with my service.

As intimated by the fact that Nathan Davis was away & I was running late that day is suggestive of my client load. I was in fact covering 2 naturopaths throughout July this year & was overwhelmed with too many clients during this time.

Technical glitches with complex computer servers is a common feature of a busy clinic & out of my control. It is true that most of our clients are in equally desperate need of support & we all do our best under the circumstances at any given time.

Initial consultations are vital in ascertaining priorities in a patient's health picture. So, the pathology in question definitely needed review. I would never prescribe something 'on a feeling'. Without in-house physical examination, only suggestive symptoms might be available as a guide when working by distance in this fashion.

If you had of given me a 2nd chance with a follow up session, you would have found out that I am actually a very empathetic practitioner that puts his heart & soul into his work & goes beyond the call of duty to find the best outcome for his clients.

If you are open to reconnecting I would be happy to offer you a free 45min consultation to pick up where we left off. I am very sorry for your suffering & would love to help you in any way that I can.

Bless :-)

Look further afield
by: Anonymous

I have been struggling with advanced Adrenal Fatigue for over 12 months. Having spent thousands of my hard earned dollars (now nearly broke) on Dr's here in Australia, and going through some gruelling treatments, the progress is very disspointing and slow. In desperation I have contacted a Dr in America whose clinic specialises in AExhaustion for help.
I live on hope, that this will work. I have found that Dr's in Australia do not have the knowledge or ability to successfully achieve results.
In the mean time I continue to struggles daily with ears ringing, heart pounding, fluctuating anxiety, dizziness - the list goes on.
My message is: research all you can, try whatever you can that works for you and don't give up, there has to be an answer!

Dr Mona Kaur
by: Anonymous

I have to say that my experience with Dr Mona Kaur has not been a very positive one. Whilst she seems to have this functional medicine orientation she is very disorganised in her approach in investigating causes for a possible problem and I'm really not sure how much knowldege she has in this area (I'm listening to Chris Kresser's podcast and he speaks quite often about his methodic approach in dealing with various issues, approach which I can't see at all in Dr Kaur's practice). I've been suffering from constipation and finally decided to try and deal with it from a wholistic perspective. She ordered a stool test for me and the results showed high gut dysbiosis. She gave me some treatment, but after two months of treatment she didn't talk about re-testing and my constipation hasn't gone away. She went straight to recommending a liver detoxification, rather than further investigating possible causes, e.g. SIBO, H Pylori, etc., as I've heard other functional practitioners are doing (again, these are people from the States). I had to suggest to her to have a hormonal panel done through a saliva test. So, all in all very disappointed with Dr Kaur, not sure if I will keep seeing her. Can anybody recommend another functional medicine practitioner in Adelaide? Thank you.

I can recommend Dr Frank Marcellino for chiropractic/osteopathy. He is a multidisciplinary practitioner and has excellent knowledge of adrenals.
Dr Mona Kaur is very thorough and is worth seeing for a wholistic approach to hormonal and adrenal health. Yes she is quite disorganised, which can be frustrating, but i stick with her as there is simply no-one else. Ive seen them all! Good luck.

Chiropractic was the answer for me
by: Anonymous

I went back to Dr Moschou to go through my Saliva test results and my level of faith in him dropped severely. He had no idea who I was, and I felt like I knew more than he did about the hormonal axis. In the end he gave me a script for cortisone (not even bio-identical) which I decided not to fill.

I had some severe headaches a few months back and went to see a Chiropractor. Turns out that he fixed my headaches, and also my adrenal issues! I had a subluxation on my spine area that affects my adrenal system and after a few adjustments, I have all my energy back again, with no drugs!

I highly recommending getting checked out.

Sep 03, 2014
Dr Kaur is the only qualified integrative practitioner in Adelaide (forget Dr Moschou)
by: Anonymous

In reply to Dr Kaur/Dr Moschou - please dont' waste your time with Dr Moschou, he does not understand the full hormonal, adrenal axis or the affects for peri-menopausal women especially. (Dr Kaur relocated her practise to North Adelaide as she was sharing the previous location which was being sold)
If you are peri-menopausal please continue to search for someone who has the sense to consider a wholistic and integrative approach. Dr Kaur is the only one I know after searching for years in Adelaide.
My blood tests constantly told me I was fine and my hormonal balance was 'within range' whereas saliva testing showed I had depleted hormone levels and my adrenals had been working overtime. Always trust your instincts and research as much as you can.
Very best of luck.

Dr Mona Kaur, Adelaide
by: Anonymous

Dr Kaur addresses adrenal fatigue, thyroid issues including Wilsons Syndrome, methylation. hormonal imbalance and insulin resistance. I believe she is the only doctor in Adelaide that has the knowledge and willingness to resolve my my severe chronic fatigue with all its complexities. I am certainly well on the road to recovery under her care. She had problems a few months back when she moved her office, opened a restaurant (her passion is eating well, food is thy medicine!) and her receptionist left at the same time.

I find her to be a kind and gentle practitoner and I am eternally grateful to her for restoring my health.

Hey i don't know about adrenal fatigue drs other than, I wouldn't waste time on Drs that don't want your business. Do further research on yourself. If it isn't your thyroid what else could it be? Blockages? Lymph system? Who works in that area? Urologist ? Traditional Chinese practitioners? Meridian system?

MONA KAUR in SA. does she want new clients?
by: Anonymous

To the person who saw her? How did it go?
To the person who asked about her, have you found out?
The experience I had is pathetic and I haven't even seen her yet.
My appointment was made 3 months ago. for the last week I have left several phone messages asking where her practice is located. No response.
I arrived early at my appointment today, after googling the address. There was no one there. When it came time for the appointment to begin I rang the offices again and still no answer....
Later, after my appointment was supposed to begin I receive a text from an unknown mobile number, telling me that the office has moved from Burnside to North Adelaide AND they only accept cash.
I then call this mobile number and ask what on earth is going on?
I explained that I had moved my work commitments, wrangled my baby and been waiting 3 months for the appointment.
The receptionist said i could have a new appointment in 1 week!!!
I asked if she could ask the Dr if I could bring my baby and here is the most appalling information.
The Dr was in the restaurant! What restaurant?
I then asked if I could drive to North Adelaide NOW and get my appointment.
The answer was no. The dr was obviously intending of staying in the restaurant. Keep in mind, this is 10 minutes after my appointment was meant to start. How long had she been in the restaurant and I wonder how long she would've kept me waiting in the foyer before she saw me , even if I was given the change of address.?

I don't think this Dr. wants or needs new clients.

Dr Karen Coates is AWESOME!!!
by: Sarah

I have been searching for years to find a doctor who would actually listen to all the symptoms I have been experiencing Because I've done my own research I knew that my my adrenals were the problem but nobody would listen until I found Dr Karen..I found out that not only did I have adrenal fatigue but my thyroid was shot to pieces with this disease called Hashimotos. There is a test called the reverse T3 that no other doctor has ordered for me and it was way out of range. Now I am on the right track and for the first time in years I have ENERGY!!!!

I would recommend DR KAREN COATES to ANYONE who has chronic fatigue and doesn't know who to turn to.
She has written a book on womens health too, so she knows alot about the whole picture..

Dr Jane Chapman may be a specialist...but I am not sure
by: June

Hello.

I have just been to see a Dr Jane Chapman on the Gold Coast. I don't know if she is a 'specialist' on Adrenal Fatigue, but that is what she has diagnosed me with.(I have only seen her once). I have just done saliva test for cortisol and DHEA which she recommended me to do, and am currently awaiting results. As I have been going around in circles with doctors for years and getting nowhere. By the way, it is expensive to see Dr Chapman, but hopefully be worth it if you get correct diagnosis. Good luck, June
